Brief Description

Community Overview

The original master-planned community of Westlake Village is transected diagonally by the Los Angeles and Ventura County line. The Los Angeles County side, consisting of 3,456 acres, was incorporated as the City of Westlake Village in 1981 and became the 82nd municipality in Los Angeles County. The Ventura County side, comprised of the remaining 8,544 acres of the original Russell ranch, was annexed into the City of Thousand Oaks in two portions in 1968 and 1972.

No matter the lifestyle you're looking for, Westlake Village has a neighborhood for you. There are 7 neighborhoods along a private lake with properties that each have private docks. Residents living on the lake can enjoy sunset from their Duffy while cursing around the 125-acre lake. Additionally, in this city you will find numerous gated communities and country club style communities like Sherwood and North Ranch. These communities are known for their parks, golf courses, country clubs, and hillside views. With plenty of hiking and horseback riding trails, and with Malibu's beaches just a few miles away, Westlake Village offers a wealth of activities for outdoor enthusiasts.

Some of the more notable schools in this community are Westlake Elementary, Westlake High, and Oaks Christian Private School. Students living this community will receive an above average education and be more than prepared to enter into a UC or CSU college.
