Moorpark is a small city located in Ventura County. It was incorporated in July 1983 and is 12.44 miles in size. In 1887, Robert W. Poindexter named the city after the Moorpark apricot which grew throughout the valley. The city has a large agricultural industry and is known for their many farms and fields of crops.
The most notable and popular farm is Underwood Family Farms. This is a great farm to take the whole family to. They offer a wide variety of activities tailored for the entire family which include, pick-your-own produce, birthday parties at the Farm Animal Center, and their Springtime, Fall Harvest and Christmas festivals at the farm. Underwood Family Farms is a grower of a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruits in Ventura County, California.
The school district in Moorpark, is The Moorpark Unified School District which also happens to be the largest employer in the city. The city is also home to Moorpark Community College which is often recognized for their animal science program and zoo on campus.
