Residents living in Thousand Oaks have plenty of things to do right in their own backyard. The Gardens of the World exhibits a wide variety of gardens that focus on the look and feel of places like Greece, France, Japan, Italy, and more. There are also many hiking trials and most notable are trials located in the Wildwood community. Paradise Falls is the most popular hiking trail in that location, with a round trip hike of about 2 miles, you can catch a glimpse of the 40-foot waterfall and its surrounding scenery.

Families looking to move to Thousand Oaks will not be disappointed by the number of parks this community has to offer. From the local neighborhood community parks to larger playfield parks, families looking to soak up the California sunshine and take their kids out for some fun will find that they can discover new parks to explore daily. Additionally, Thousand Oaks does not fail when it comes to offering strong academics to their student population. The Conjeo Valley United School District has had four of their locations receive Distinguished California School awards over the past years. Three of them also have won National Blue-Ribbon honors from the Office of Education.
